Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi Malayalam Movie Review and Boxoffice Collection Report

PLOT :
             Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi tells the story of two friends, Kasi (Dulquer Salmaan) and Suni (Sunny Wayne) who are on a bike trip from Kerala to Nagaland. As the movie progresses, the purpose behind their trip is revealed and how the trip makes changes in Kasi's life is depicted.
REVIEW :
            'Road movie' is a totally alien genre in the Malayalam cinema and here is Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi from Sameer Thahir and his team. Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi  is truly a rare cinematic experience for the malayalam cinema goers. Everyone out of the theaters after watching this movie will be wishing for long drive in a similar manner to the picturesque locations shown in the movie. Sameer Thahir's last directional venture Chappa Kurushu was lauded for it's reality and execution, and Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi deserves much more. This review is being written after watching the movie two days ago and what I felt was as the days passes by, my appreciation for the movie is increasing.
         The solid script written by Hashir Mohamed and the perfect execution by Sameer Thahir makes this movie an entirely new experience. The top notch visuals by Gireesh Gangadharan of various locations from states of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Nagaland and Sikkim is brilliant. The songs by Rex Vijayan are impressive, especially the song Doore Doore at the beginning of the movie which is also sung by Rex Vijayan himself. The cuts and editing by Sreekar Prasad was flawless and really deserves special mention. In my opinion, the finishing part of the movie deserved a better trimming and it would have helped the movie in obtaining better response from all audiences.
             Charming Dulquer Salmaan and naughty Sunny Wayne impresses giving soul to their characters and demonstrates how much they holds for the future. The duo who made their debut through Second Show last year has already got into the hearts of malayalees. Surja Bala Hijam who plays the love interest of Dulquer Salmaan is charming. Ena Saha as Gauri, veteran bengali actor Dhritiman Chatterjee and Paloma Monappa has given fine performances. Other supporting casts including Joy Mathew, Pearle Maaney, Avantika, KTC Abdullah, Reinhard Abernathy, Vanitha, Krishnachandran, Ajay Nataraj, Madhubaladevi, Bobby Zachariah Abraham have done their part very well.
          Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi is a must watch and a movie to be never missed.
BOX OFFICE :
          Due to heavy releases including foreign language releases, NPCB was released only in 56 theaters. Three days total gross of the movie from the theaters is 1.80 crores. As first week comes to an end, the total collection of the movie has reached 2.50 Crores. The biggest competitors of NPCB are family pullers (Pullipulikalum Attinkuttiyum and Memories) and despite getting positive WOM, multiple releases are the reason for NPCB's average performance at the box office.
             Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi has made a box office collection of 4.31 crores in it's two week run with a total number of around 2,700 theatrical shows.

             Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi has got reduced to 37 screens and three weeks collection of the movie is almost 4.80 crores. Truly the movie deserved a better run and the movie can be classified as a HIT. So far the theatrical show count has reached 3,600.
             New releases has almost washed off Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi from the cinemas. The lifetime gross of the movie is figured to be around 5.20 crores. Next Dulquar Salman venture is Pattam Pole and wishing good box office run!
